Born to Coach
In kindergarten, I saw how mean some kids were and asked others why they would be friends with them. I could not stand by and do nothing when I saw injustices.

In 3rd grade, I talked to a girl other kids wouldn't accept. I decided she was nice, I announced to the group she was joining us.

As a career coach at Drake Beam Morin, I counseled individuals and presented career workshops to help layoff victims get back on their feet.
They cried about being let go after 20+ years of company loyalty, and I cried with them. But when their crying subsided, I listened to help uncover potential and job alternatives.

As a coach and a workplace columnist, I offer heartfelt empathy, extensive life and career experience, and positive yet realistic options to help people move forward in life. How will you feel if next month or next year you are still waiting to change? Time moves quickly.
Regrets are not fun. Can you afford to do nothing?

My Background
I began my career researching and writing editorials at WBBM-TV (CBS Chicago). I moved to NY to work in  marketing and public relations, and returned to Chicago to work on research and writing assignments for senior partners at Mayer Brown, a top international law firm. After nearly seven years, I was inspired to create the
first Q&A workplace column in The Chicago Tribune.
It was nationally syndicated four years later.

Onward and Upward
I heard the lead nurse call my name twice, then announce to the medical team, "We're losing her."  But I returned. After 10 blood transfusions and four months in the hospital, I recovered.

Everyone has a unique path in life. Everyone has a purpose.  Friends can't help you. Family can't help you. They have their own desires for your life. Only a coach who has lived through it all, survived and thrived, can guide you to your inner wisdom. I help you see your many options. The choices are yours to make.
